Take a look at flooding in Rothbury after the River Coquet burst its banks.

Persistent rain saw the river overflow in the Northumberland town on Friday, March 16.

You can see the covering of water in the lower part of Rothbury in the video above.

The footbridge across the river and footpaths along the banks were completely impassable.

The Coquet’s level also raised up close to some people’s homes, but no major damage has been reported.

Tour agent Shepherds Walks shared the clip on their Facebook page.

They said the water had subsided by Saturday morning.

A flood warning for the lower River Coquet, which stretches from Pauperhaugh to Warkworth, was downgraded earlier today.

An Environment Agency alert remains in place for Sunderland.

But there is also the question of the snow.

A Met Office weather warning is in place for the entire North East remains in place until the end of Saturday.
