Zacks Analyst Interview Highlights: OmniVision, ON Semiconductor and Microsoft

CHICAGO--Zacks.com releases the latest Analyst Interview. Today's interview is with senior analyst Ken Nagy, who discusses OmniVision (Nasdaq: OVTI), ON Semiconductor (Nasdaq: ONNN) and Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT).

A synopsis of today's Analyst Interview is presented below. The full article can be read at http://at.zacks.com/?id=2678.

Which semiconductor stocks are your top Buys at this time?

OmniVision (Nasdaq: OVTI) is an OEM of CMOS image sensors and support circuitry used within handsets and applications in other mass markets. Results exceeded consensus estimates on both the top and bottom lines and were also better than management expectations. Forward guidance is for a 30-38% revenue increase in the first quarter. The strong guidance is on account of the resurgence in handset demand, and ASP pressures are likely to be offset by a more favorable mix. We believe the outlook is much improved. Consequently,we upgraded OVTI shares to BUY.

ON Semiconductor (Nasdaq: ONNN) is an OEM of primarily analog semiconductors used within a diverse set of end markets. June quarter results slightly exceeded consensus estimates. Next quarter's revenue guidance is for 3-6% growth. Backlog represents over 90% of next quarter's revenue projection. The company has also begun to get significant revenue from its recent major purchase of LSI Logic's Gresham, Oregon wafer facility, which has the potential to be a solid revenue driver. Despite reports of muted success from Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) Vista, we feel the stock is under valued at these levels, and recommend Investors buy the shares.
